Daddy Honk Honk! by Rosalinde Bonnet

In the same vein as Are You My Mother?, Daddy Honk Honk! is a journey to finding family. Aput, the arctic fox, comes along a goose egg that hatches. The gosling thinks the fox is its father. Aput meets other arctic animals on his journey to find the gosling a home. Each animal cannot take the gosling, but they have helpful advice to give for taking care of a baby - they need warm clothes, good food, playtime and love. Aput eventually claims the gosling as his own.  He returns home with the gosling, with a better understanding of how to care for a baby. At the end the animals surprise Aput with a gift, a beautiful name for his baby, Aurora. The illustrations in this book are sweet and delightful water colors. It includes many fun and colorful two-page spreads. This book celebrates family and reinforces the idea that "it takes a village" to raise a child. It's a great read-aloud.
